After the Soviet Union
dissolution, a title of “evil empire” passed to Russia, which couldn’t
become the part of civilized world. Putin’s dictatorship “legalized” any
forms of terrorism acts, especially against ideological enemies.

1. The terrorist essence of Putin.
Since Putin came to power in 1999, more than 20 well-known
oppositionists and journalists have been killed. In 2006, Russian
journalist Anna Politkovskaya was symbolically murdered on Putin’s
birthday. “Why did I dislike Putin? Because of endless war. Lies. The
gassing at “Nord-Ost”. Corpses of innocently murdered, accompanying his
entire first term”, — she said.

Also, in 2006, the
former officer of the Russian FSB secret service Alexander Litvinenko,
who frequently criticized Putin, was poisoned with plutonium. In 2016,
the London court found that Putin was a man who “probably approved” his
poisoning.

In 2015, the
Russian oppositionist Boris Nemtsov was killed. Demonstratively, near
the Kremlin. He was shot one day before the large-scale protests of
opposition.

As you know, before
the presidency, Putin was the director of FSB. He wasn’t a businessman
like Trump or a politician like Obama. The murders remain the favorite
method of solving problems for Putin.
2. Russia threatens the West with terrorism.
“Terrorism acts are going on in Europe and will continue. And it is
profitable for us — let them die and die”, — said the talking head of
the Kremlin, deputy Vladimir Zhirinovsky on one of Russian TV channels.
After the Nice terror attack, Putin’s confidant Sergei Markov said that
Russia and Germany should urgently establish cooperation, otherwise the
next attack will be in Berlin.
The Kremlin’s main
message is if you don’t cooperate with Russia, the terrorist attacks
will continue. In this way, Russia is trying to get out of international
isolation and have the opportunity to mitigate sanctions.
3. Russia makes heroes from terrorists.
In October 2016, Russian citizen Arseniy Pavlov died in the elevator of
Donetsk because of the explosion. It was Motorola, the famous commander
of subdivision of the pro-Russian troops in Donbas, who killed the
defenders of sovereign Ukraine. There is an audio recording, where
Motorola admits the shooting of 15 Ukrainian prisoners.

At the same time,
the number one Kremlin’s propagandist Dmitry Kiselev said live on the
air: “Motorola is killed. Bright memory. A real hero”. In general,
Russian’s propaganda made a positive media character of brave fighter
for the “Russian world” from a terrorist, who killed Ukrainians. Russian
deputy Milonov even offered to name in honour of Motorola school in
Saint Petersburg.
This is nothing else but
the agitation of slackers crossover Russia to go to Donbas and fight
like Motorola, the legendary killer of the Ukrainian military.
4. Russia takes hostages.
In October 2016, the FSB detained a Ukrainian journalist Roman
Sushchenko, who arrived in Russia during the holidays to visit
relatives. He worked at one of the Ukrainian news agencies since 2002.
There are a lot of his articles on the Internet you can find. However,
in Russia, the journalist was accused of espionage, which threatens him
with imprisonment from 10 to 20 years.

Similarly, dozens
of Ukrainian political prisoners are held in Russia’s prisons on
falsified charges. There are among them Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov,
civil activist Alexander Kolchenko, historian Alexei Chirny, activist
Nikolai Karpyuk, history teacher Stanislav Klykh. Russia uses them as a
weapon against Ukraine.
5. Russia sponsors terrorism.
In addition to active terrorist activities as an independent player,
Russia supports terrorist entities and helps them with military
equipment and manpower.
As a result, in 2014,
civilian Boeing MH17 was shot down in Donbas, over the territory
occupied by Russia. Almost 300 people were killed. In September 2016,
the results of the official criminal investigation announced that the
“Buk” which shot down the plane was imported into Donbas from Russia and
taken back to Russia afterwards. Furthermore, in 2015 Russia vetoed a
resolution of the UN Security Council on the establishment of an
international tribunal to investigate the downed Boeing.

A few days ago, the
UN International Court of Justice held Ukraine against Russia hearings.
Putin’s press secretary Peskov has already said that Russia recognizes
any decision of the International Court of Justice. But it’s only the
beginning. Besides this, Ukraine has filed five major suits in the
European Court of Human Rights. In addition, Ukraine filed a lawsuit
against Russia’s occupation of Crimea in the International Criminal
Court.

History
has taught us that the policy of appeasement is ineffective. “Deep
concern” is not enough to make the difference. Therefore, Ukraine
expects that courts decisions will affect European and American policies
and increase the determination the sanctions continuation. Moreover, Putin and the executors of criminal orders must meet their “Nuremberg”. It would be deservedly and properly.
